I’m lucky to be visiting scientist at the University of Glasgow for the second time. Two years later I came back in Glasgow  at the Physics and Astronomy Department of University of Glasgow.

I’m working here with Data Analysis team on a classification problem for transient signals in LIGO and Virgo Gravitational Waves detectors.

We aim to identify class of signals which are present in our data, looking at their ‘dirty’ waveforms, using different techniques.

It is a great experience working with this team and planning new things to do with them.

The building in which I stay is fantastic!

“The University of Glasgow (Scottish Gaelic: Oilthigh Ghlaschu, Latin: Universitas Glasguensis) is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland‘s four ancient universities. It was founded in 1451. Along with the University of Edinburgh, the University was part of the Scottish Enlightenment during the 18th century. It is currently a member of Universitas 21, the international network of research universities, and the Russell Group.”

Today It was the graduation day and while walking through the old building we crossed their celebration and we  were amazed by the atmosphere that reigned among young male and female students in their beautiful graduation dressed.

I have to confess: I love Scotland!  I love the variety of the landscapes and the people I meet while going at work!

I can not wait to return to visit the Highland and lose myself in their green and sky.

This time I’m here with all my family, and for the first week we were lucky: not so much rain as we expected and many ‘sunny’ days… hoping to still be in Europe tomorrow morning!
