G2net COST Action holds a very special place in my heart. I had the privilege of proposing and chairing G2net – A Network for Gravitational Waves, Geophysics and Machine Learning, a European initiative that united physicists, data scientists and engineers to tackle one of the major challenges in gravitational wave science: extracting weak astrophysical signals from overwhelming noise. Through G2net, we developed practical tools, launched global research challenges, hosted training schools and workshops, and created a strong interdisciplinary community that empowered many early-career researchers.
